This budget is designed with a strategic focus on enhancing the social and economic sectors, reflecting the state's commitment to addressing pressing challenges.
Governor Yusuf outlined that the budget is structured with a capital-to-recurrent expenditure ratio of 57:43.
He emphasized significant allocations to key sectors, stating, "Education will receive N168.35 billion, which is 31% of the total budget, as we prioritize the future of our youth." Health services are set to receive N90.60 billion (16.5%), while agriculture and infrastructure development are allocated N21.04 billion (3.83%) and N70.68 billion (12.87%), respectively.
The governor acknowledged the economic difficulties faced by citizens in 2024, noting, "This year has been particularly challenging due to economic reforms and currency fluctuations, leading to widespread protests."
He expressed hope that these protests would be the last, underscoring the importance of supporting youth initiatives to prevent further unrest.
Reflecting on the previous year's budget performance, Governor Yusuf reported a 77% achievement rate, attributing this success to efforts in blocking financial leakages.
He remarked, "Despite the hurdles, we have managed to maintain a steady course, ensuring that essential services continue to reach our people."
