Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has made a definitive statement regarding the future political landscape within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

During a live media parley in Abuja, Wike asserted that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who was the PDP's presidential candidate in 2023, would not be able to secure the party's ticket for the 2027 elections.

Wike's comments were in response to Atiku's recent claims about his economic blueprint, which Atiku argued could better serve Nigerians than the current administration's policies.

Wike countered this by stating, "Did he not present it before Nigerians? Did Nigerians choose him?" He emphasized that Nigerians had already evaluated and rejected Atiku's proposals during the previous election cycle.

Wike further elaborated on the need for new leadership and ideas within the PDP, criticizing the reliance on a single individual over many years. He drew a comparison with American politics, noting how Americans made decisions based on national interests rather than personal opinions, referencing former President Donald Trump's influence despite not being in government.
