Actress Eniola Badmus Praises Tinubu's Strategy for Shifting Nigerian Economy from Consumption to Production

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has publicly praised the Nigerian economy under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting a significant shift from consumption to production.

This commendation comes amid widespread economic challenges and public protests against rising hardship and inflation in the country.

Badmus took to her Instagram story to share her observations, noting that Nigeria's imports are decreasing while exports are on the rise. She emphasized that this trend indicates an expanding economy. "Our imports are reducing, and our exports are increasing.

That is a sign that our economy is expanding," she wrote. For the year-to-date 2024, Nigeria's imports totaled N24.44 trillion, while exports reached N38.59 trillion.

This resulted in an unprecedented trade surplus of over N14 trillion in just eight months. "It has never happened in Nigeria. Never. This is a refreshing shift from consumption to production," Badmus added.

Despite these positive economic indicators, the country faces significant socio-economic challenges.

Last month, millions of Nigerians participated in the 'End Hunger Protests,' demonstrating against the worsening hardship and inflation affecting their daily lives.
