Nigeria's largest airline, Air Peace, has addressed and refuted widespread rumors regarding a major fare increase. The viral claims suggested that the airline intended to double its one-way ticket price from Lagos to Abuja to ₦200,000 starting November 1, 2024.

In response, Air Peace issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), categorically denying these allegations. The airline emphasized, "We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace."

They further clarified that no official statement regarding such a fare increase had been released and urged customers to rely solely on their verified channels for accurate updates.

The rumor had caused concern among Nigerians, many of whom were already exploring alternative travel options due to rising airfares. Air Peace reassured passengers to disregard the false reports and trust only official communications for verified information.
