AC Milan and Spain striker, Alvaro Morata has opened up about his 'painful' split from his wife, Alice Campello, after seven years of marriage.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2017, decided to part ways due to differing life choices. Morata explained that the primary reason for their separation was Alice's reluctance to move to Italy.

"Alice wanted to stay in Spain and didn't want another move," he stated. Despite the split, Morata emphasized that they still maintain an excellent rapport and will always be close, especially for the sake of their four children.

The couple enjoyed a happy family life, often seen together during public events such as Euro 2024, where Morata captained Spain to victory.

They were also spotted sharing affectionate moments on the beaches of Sardinia during a post-tournament holiday.

However, the demands of Morata's football career, which required frequent relocations, eventually took a toll on their relationship.

Alice Campello, an Italian model, initially met Morata through Instagram in 2016 when he was playing for Juventus.

Despite ignoring his initial messages, she eventually responded, leading to their eventual marriage. Over the years, they built a life together across various countries, including Italy, Spain, and England.

Morata expressed his devastation over the split but acknowledged that it was a mutual decision. "We were both clear that we preferred to end the relationship and start from there," he said.

The couple's decision to go separate ways was not influenced by infidelity, as ongoing rumors suggested, but rather by their differing personal aspirations and the challenges posed by Morata's career.
