The National Chairman of Nigeria's All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared the party's ambitious plan to regain control over the South-West region.

This strategic move is set to commence with the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State on November 16.

During a stakeholders' meeting held in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, Ganduje was joined by prominent figures such as Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ekiti Governor Abiodun Oyebanji.

The meeting signifies the APC's commitment to expanding its influence ahead of the 2027 general elections, with a particular focus on Oyo and Osun states to strengthen support for President Bola Tinubu.

Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity and grassroots mobilization within the party, stating, "In this geopolitical zone, we must deliver 100 percent in favour of APC.

Therefore, Ondo State, you must be at the forefront; the two other states – Oyo and Osun – we will capture them, but I will not reveal our secret."

The APC Chairman expressed confidence in the incumbent Governor of Ondo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, highlighting the national party leaders' full backing of his candidacy. He announced that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would lead the National Campaign Council, further solidifying the party's strategic efforts.

Ganduje called on party members to engage in extensive grassroots efforts, urging them to visit "house to house, neighbour to neighbour," to ensure a strong voter turnout. He also appealed for unity among party aspirants, reminding them that "there is no victor, no vanquish" in the primary elections, and encouraged collaboration for the party's success.
