The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged as the winner of all contested positions in the recent Local Government Elections held in Kogi State, Nigeria. The elections, which took place on Saturday, saw the APC clinching all 21 Chairmanship and 239 Councilorship seats across the state.

The results were officially announced on October 20, 2024, by Mamman Nda Eri, the chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC).

The announcement was made at the commission's headquarters, which was heavily secured during the declaration. Despite the comprehensive win, KOSIEC did not release detailed statistics regarding the number of votes cast or the performance of other parties. Instead, the focus was on confirming the field results as reported by each local government electoral officer.

Eri expressed his appreciation to the people of Kogi State for their participation in the electoral process. He also extended gratitude to election observers, security agencies, and the staff of the commission for their roles in ensuring a peaceful election. "We thank the residents for their active involvement and the peaceful conduct observed throughout the election," Eri stated.
