Argentina's President Javier Milei has strongly condemned the recent vandalism of Lionel Messi's vacation home in Ibiza, Spain.

The €11 million ($12 million) property was defaced by environmental activists from the Spain-based group Futuro Vegetal, who spray-painted the walls with red and black paint. This act of vandalism occurred on Tuesday and has sparked considerable outrage.

President Milei, who assumed office on December 10, 2023, succeeding Alberto Fernández, called for increased protection measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

He emphasized the need to safeguard private properties and criticized the actions of the vandals, stating that such behavior is unacceptable and must be addressed promptly.

Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami in the United States, owns several properties, including his primary residence in Castelldefels' affluent Bellamar neighborhood along the Spanish coastline.

His Barcelona house, purchased for $1.8 million in 2009, underwent extensive renovations costing around $6 million. Additionally, Messi rents a luxurious property in Paris, which costs him approximately £17,500 (€20,000) per month.
