Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided insights into the departure of Edu, the club's sporting director.
According to Arteta, Edu decided to leave Arsenal after receiving an offer for "a different role" within Evangelos Marinakis' network of clubs, which is notably linked to Nottingham Forest. This move marks the end of Edu's five-year tenure at Arsenal.
Arteta emphasized that Edu's decision was driven by what he believes to be "the right professional move for him." Arteta expressed respect for Edu's choice, stating, "We have to respect that and from the bottom of my heart I think everybody really feels that we want the best for him."
Edu's resignation was officially announced on Monday afternoon, as Arsenal prepares for a challenging Champions League match against Inter Milan.
