Ayra Starr is Like a Sister Not Just an Industry Friend - Darkoo [VIDEO]

Nigerian singer Darkoo has shed light on her unique relationship with fellow artist Ayra Starr, emphasizing that their bond transcends typical industry friendships.

During her recent appearance on the Uncut Podcast, Darkoo expressed that she views Ayra Starr more like a sister than just a colleague in the music industry.

"I have some friends in the industry, but I don’t think I am looking for friends in the industry, just friends in general. I feel like I was able to find that in Ayra Starr. I don’t see her as an industry friend but I see her as my sister," Darkoo shared.

Highlighting the depth of their connection, Darkoo noted that their similarities play a role in their close relationship.

"Why we merge so well is because we are very alike, but what I really love about her is that she is so respectful.

You can just tell that she is a proper Naija girl by the way she sees life," she added.

The singer also mentioned the mutual learning and respect that define their friendship. "She also teaches me a lot of stuff, and I love that type of relationship," Darkoo said.

However, Darkoo maintains a cautious approach to friendships within the industry, preferring to keep a healthy distance to avoid overfamiliarity and potential disrespect.

"In terms of going out with people, I won’t say that they are my friends. I’m a very friendly person, so it’s easy to make that type of friendship, but it doesn’t go further than just seeing each other and DMing each other.

I feel like distance friendship is fine because 'see finish' is a real thing. People start to disrespect you when they get too close and too comfortable with you," she explained.
