Barcelona and Spain legend, Andres Iniesta, is set to retire from football at the age of 40. This marks the end of an illustrious career that has spanned over two decades and seen him achieve remarkable success both at the club and international levels.

Iniesta's professional journey began in 2002 when he made his debut for Barcelona after progressing through the club's renowned La Masia academy. Over the next 16 years, he became a pivotal figure in the Catalan side, making 674 appearances, scoring 57 goals, and providing 135 assists.
His contributions were instrumental in Barcelona's dominance during this period, as evidenced by the 32 trophies he won with the club. These include four Champions League titles, nine La Liga championships, six Copa del Reys, and three Club World Cups. Only Lionel Messi, with 35 trophies, has won more silverware in Barcelona's history.
Internationally, Iniesta was equally influential. He earned 131 caps for Spain and scored 13 goals. His most memorable moment came in the 2010 World Cup final, where he scored the winning goal against the Netherlands, securing Spain's first-ever World Cup title.
Additionally, he was a key player in Spain's victories at Euro 2008 and Euro 2012, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
After leaving Barcelona in 2018, Iniesta continued his career with Japanese side Vissel Kobe, where he added a league title and a cup to his collection over five years. Most recently, he played for UAE's Emirates Club, scoring five goals in 20 appearances last season. However, since his contract expired this summer, Iniesta has been without a club.
According to Relevo, Iniesta will officially announce his retirement next week. He hinted at this decision through a social media post, where he shared a video of himself painting a mural and captioned it: "COMING SOON. 8, 10, 24," indicating the date of his announcement.
