Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna and the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, has publicly announced her decision to disown her family and drop her surname, Otabor.

The Edo-born reality TV star took to her verified X handle on Thursday night to share this deeply personal decision, citing a lifetime of familial neglect and recent hardships as the driving forces behind her choice.

Phyna expressed her emotional struggle in a heartfelt post, stating, “I am publicly dropping my family surname Otabor… It has been proven that I actually have no family and nobody knows how I came about…. I’m still searching for answers though.”

She further lamented the lack of support from her family since childhood, adding, “It’s been rough with me lately…… I’m in a place where I can’t even describe how I feel or what to call what I’m going through rn.”
