Berlin Doctor Arrested for Murdering 4 Elderly Patients in Their Own Homes

A 39-year-old doctor in Berlin has been detained on suspicion of killing four elderly female patients and attempting to set their homes on fire.

The accused, who was part of a nursing service's palliative care team, allegedly committed these crimes between June and July 2024.

According to authorities, the victims were women aged between 72 and 94. The first incident occurred on June 11, when firefighters resuscitated an 87-year-old woman, but she later died in the hospital.

Subsequent alleged killings involved a 76-year-old woman on July 8, a 72-year-old woman on July 15, and a 94-year-old woman on July 24.

The doctor reportedly tried to cover up his actions by setting fires at the victims' apartments, although not all attempts were successful.

He is currently being held on charges of manslaughter, one count of arson, and three counts of attempted arson.
