Manchester City's impressive 32-game unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth.

The match, held at the Vitality Stadium, showcased Bournemouth's superior intensity and strategic preparation, which City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged post-match.

Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring for Bournemouth, followed by a second goal from Evanilson. Despite Josko Gvardiol pulling one back for Manchester City, it was not enough to change the outcome. Guardiola admitted, "We knew we couldn’t match the intensity.

We have talked about it. It was an open game. We had chances at the end but I congratulate Bournemouth for the victory."

The defeat was characterized by Bournemouth's aggressive playstyle, physicality, and speed, which Guardiola highlighted as key factors in their success.

He noted, "The 50-50 balls in the middle, the duels, they play this type of game. They are so aggressive. They had six to seven days to prepare."

Despite Manchester City creating opportunities and goalkeeper Ederson making a significant save, they were unable to capitalize on their chances.

This loss allowed Liverpool to ascend to the top of the EPL standings, further intensifying the competition as Newcastle also secured a victory over Arsenal.
