By the Grace of God, I Will Become Next Olubadan - Ladoja

High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja expressed his confidence in becoming the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Speaking on Sunday, Ladoja, who currently holds the title of Otun Olubadan, stated, "By the grace of God, I will become the next Olubadan."

This declaration comes after the recent coronation of Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The ceremony, held on Friday, was attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria, marking a significant event in the country's cultural calendar.

According to tradition, the Olubadan throne is rotated between two ruling lines: Egbe Agba (civil) and Balogun (military). With Oba Olakulehin now crowned, Ladoja, who heads the civil line, is next in line for the prestigious position.

His ascension, however, is contingent upon the approval of the state governor, Seyi Makinde. Ladoja's journey to this point has not been without its challenges.

He recently bowed to pressure and agreed to take up the mantle of leadership, despite previously opposing the idea.
