CAF Sets Dates for Super Eagles' Final AFCON 2025 Qualifier Matches


The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the dates for Nigeria's final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.


According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), these crucial games are scheduled against the Republic of Benin and Rwanda on November 14 and 18, respectively.


The Matchday 5 clash with Benin Republic will take place at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, commencing at 8 p.m. Nigeria time. Senegalese referee Issa Sy, along with his compatriots Djibril Camara, Nouha Bangoura, and El Hadji Amadou Sy, will officiate this match. Rene Williams Sere from Cote d’ Voire will serve as the commissioner, while Angolan Inacio Manuel Candido will be the referee assessor.

The Matchday 6 encounter against Rwanda is set for November 18 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, with a kickoff time of 5 p.m. Moroccan officials have been appointed for this game, with Samir Guezzaz as the referee. He will be assisted by Zakaria Brinsi, Abdessamad Abertoune, and Kech Chaf Mustapha. Prosper Harrison Addo from Ghana will act as the commissioner, and Somalian Ali Mohamed Ahmed will be the referee assessor.


These matches will conclude the race from Group D for slots at the 35th Africa Cup of Nations finals, which are scheduled to be held in Morocco from December 2025 to January 2026.
