Prolific Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah on Wednesday etched his name in the annals of football history by becoming the top African goalscorer in UEFA Champions League history.

This remarkable achievement was realized during Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Bologna, where Salah not only assisted Alexis Mac Allister for the opening goal but also scored a quintessential curling finish from inside the box to secure his 45th goal in the competition.

This milestone allowed him to surpass the previous record held by former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, who had 44 goals. Samuel Eto'o, another legendary African player, ranks third with 30 goals.

Salah's accomplishment is a testament to his exceptional talent and consistency on the European stage. His ability to deliver crucial performances underscores his vital role in Liverpool's attacking lineup and highlights the increasing influence of African players in global football.
