Andrew Kenney, 27, and his wife, Ale, 29, embarked on a remarkable nine-month cruise costing $118K to visit 65 countries after experiencing the profound loss of their fathers at a young age.
Their journey began in December 2023, covering 150 ports across diverse destinations such as Australia, France, Greenland, and the Bahamas.

This decision was driven by a realization that "life’s too short," a sentiment echoed by Ale who said, “After my dad passed away we said we hoped we would get to travel when we retire. But we thought that one of us might die before we get to travel so we decided to travel the world together.”
Despite the extensive travel, the couple has managed to continue working. Andrew has been engaged in freelance videography while Ale has been vlogging their experiences.

This blend of work and travel highlights the growing trend of digital nomadism, where individuals leverage technology to maintain their professional lives while exploring the world.
The couple's voyage has not only been about seeing new places but also about forming deep connections.
Ale noted, “I was not expecting the community on board, with us all being forced into these different circumstances we have found some lifelong friends.”
This sense of community has been an unexpected yet enriching aspect of their journey, adding significant value beyond the monetary cost.
Financially, the couple believes the expense has been justified. Andrew explained, “You get three loads of laundry done every week, unlimited wifi, free food and drinks and get to see seven world wonders – all included in the price. They really packed it worth it, we knew if we had taken all these trips individually it would be more expensive.”
This comprehensive package has allowed them to experience global wonders like the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal, making the trip a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience.
Their story is a testament to the emotional and psychological benefits of travel. It shows how such adventures can serve as a coping mechanism for loss and a means to enrich personal and professional lives.
As Ale reflected, “The things we have experienced are what we read about or watched on TV. Like who gets to see the Great Wall of China or the Taj Mahal?”
