The Court of Appeal in Abuja has disqualified Olusola Ebiseni as the Labour Party's candidate for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, scheduled for Saturday, November 16.
This decision was delivered on Thursday, November 13, by a three-member panel led by Justice Adebukola Banjoko.
The appellate court's ruling overturns an earlier decision by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, which had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Ebiseni and Ezekiel Awude as the Labour Party’s governorship and deputy governorship candidates.
Justice Nwite had validated the second primary election conducted by the Labour Party, which resulted in their selection.
However, the Court of Appeal found this second primary election invalid.
Justice Banjoko stated, "The appeal marked CA/ABJ/CV/1172/2024 brought by the Labour Party against Chief Olusola Ebiseni and two others is allowed."
