Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team has raised serious allegations against federal investigators, claiming that his jail cell was unlawfully raided.
According to reports, the raid resulted in the confiscation of "a bunch of privileged materials," including personal notes intended for his defense team.
This incident reportedly took place while Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City. Combs, who is facing a slew of charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, has been held in pre-trial detention since September. His lawyers argue that the search and seizure violated his Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights.
They described the government's actions as "outrageous conduct amounting to a substantive due process violation." The legal team has demanded an immediate court hearing to address these concerns, questioning who authorized the search and why such privileged materials were targeted.
In response, Judge Arun Subramanian has ordered prosecutors to provide answers by 5 p.m. ET Monday, with a hearing scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
