The Department of State Services (DSS) in Nigeria has once again denied Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), access to his legal team.
This action, which took place on Friday, November 1, was disclosed by Kanu’s Lead Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, who shared the development via a post on X.

Ejimakor expressed frustration over the DSS's persistent non-compliance with court rulings, stating, "Today, in a blatant & continuing disobedience of extant court order, the DSS barred the Legal Team of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from conducting a visitation with him."
He further vowed to reinvigorate all previously suspended legal actions to enforce compliance with the court's directive.
This incident is not isolated; it follows a similar denial in October, marking a pattern of disregard for judicial authority by the DSS. Nnamdi Kanu has been in DSS custody since his rearrest and extraordinary rendition in 2021.
The Abuja Federal High Court has already threatened DSS Director General, Adeola Ajayi, with imprisonment for contempt due to these repeated violations.
