The Edo State House of Assembly has approved a revised supplementary budget amounting to N485 billion for Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration.

This decision marks a pivotal step in advancing the state's infrastructure and public services.

The newly passed budget allocates a substantial N283.087 billion towards capital expenditures, showing the government's commitment to enhancing the state's infrastructure.

Meanwhile, N202.54 billion is earmarked for recurrent expenditures, ensuring the smooth operation of state functions and services.

Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku, emphasized the importance of this budgetary approval, stating that it "will enable the newly sworn-in governor to continue developmental projects in the state."

This financial plan not only supports ongoing initiatives but also sets the stage for new projects under Governor Okpebholo's leadership.

This revised budget surpasses the previous N450 billion budget approved for former Governor Godwin Obaseki by N36 billion, reflecting an ambitious vision for Edo State's future.

The Assembly's actions also included the confirmation of Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole as the Commissioner for Health, highlighting a focus on strengthening the health sector alongside infrastructural growth.

Additionally, the legislative body demonstrated its active engagement in governance by reinstating previously suspended lawmakers and passing the State Anthem bill.

These measures indicate a robust legislative framework aimed at fostering progress and stability within the state.
