Edo Election: PDP's Ighodalo Criticizes INEC for Late Arrival

F.Adenike

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate of Edo State, Asue Ighodalo expressed strong disapproval of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) due to serious delays in the arrival of officials and election materials.

This occurred at Ighodalo's polling unit in Okaegben ward one, Ewohimi, where the materials arrived two hours late, coinciding with his own arrival at 10:30 a.m.

Ighodalo did not hold back his criticism, stating, "The late arrival of INEC officials and materials is unacceptable and undermines the electoral process.

" He also highlighted additional issues, such as the arrest of PDP members in Uromi and further delays in material delivery in Owan West Local Government Area.

To address these setbacks, Ighodalo proposed extending voting hours to compensate for the lost time, ensuring that all voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots.
