President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, expressed his confidence in the newly inaugurated Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, marking a new chapter for the state.
President Tinubu praised Governor Okpebholo's commitment to transforming Edo into a state abundant with job opportunities and essential services. He described their election as a "powerful endorsement of the collective will of the people," emphasizing the importance of dismantling any barriers that could hinder development.
"Election brings joy and also brings the moment of diligence in the face of obstacles on the way that a leader must overcome in order to bring dividend to the people," Tinubu stated.
The president highlighted Okpebholo's integrity and vision, aligning with national economic reforms and the broader Renewed Hope Agenda.
This agenda aims to lay a new foundation for economic stability and growth across Nigeria. "I am proud that Edo has chosen such a man to lay the tripod for them.
Senator Monday Okpebholo understands the dream of the people and has the vision to bring those dreams to light," he added.
Governor Okpebholo has already set ambitious goals, including immediate infrastructure projects like road, drainage, and bridge construction.
