The official Twitter account of Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been inaccessible for three consecutive days, sparking concerns about a potential cyberattack.

The outage, which began earlier this week, has been attributed to an alleged cyber assault by suspected internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as "Yahoo Boys."
The EFCC's spokesman, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the situation during a conversation with The Gazette on Wednesday night. "Our ICT department is working on it.
They have been on it for almost three days now. We are hoping it will come up again," he stated. Despite initial speculations of a cyberattack, the agency later clarified that the issue might be due to a network problem.
However, the timing of the outage has raised eyebrows, especially since it coincides with threats from a group of suspected internet fraudsters.
These threats, posted on Reddit and other online forums, came in response to the EFCC's recent crackdown on suspicious online activities.
SaharaReporters noted that the EFCC's Twitter account, which boasts over two million followers, displayed the message: “This account doesn’t exist.”
This disappearance has led to widespread speculation about the impact of the alleged cyberattack.
The EFCC has assured the public that its ICT department is actively working to resolve the technical issue and restore access to the Twitter account.
Meanwhile, other social media platforms of the agency remain unaffected.
