This decision, effective from December 1st, 2024, marks a pivotal moment in the state's commitment to improving the livelihoods of its workforce.

The approval came after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the state government and leaders of organized labor. Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi, the Head of Service, signed on behalf of the state government, while labor leaders represented the workers.

The agreement ensures that all strata of Ekiti workers, including pensioners, will benefit from this wage increase.

She expressed gratitude to the labor leaders for their patience and understanding throughout the negotiation process, stating, "Today is another landmark in the history of Ekiti State as we come together to sign the new minimum wage for Ekiti State Public servants."
