Vivian Jenna Wilson, the estranged transgender daughter of Elon Musk, has announced her decision to leave the United States following Donald Trump's recent election victory.

In a statement shared on Threads, Wilson expressed her concerns about the future for transgender individuals in the U.S., stating, "I’ve thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don’t see my future being in the United States." She further elaborated that even if Trump is only in office for four years and anti-trans regulations do not materialize, the societal attitudes that supported his election are unlikely to change soon.

Wilson, who severed ties with her father in 2022 after filing a petition to change her gender and name, has been vocal about her strained relationship with Musk. She has criticized him for his harsh parenting and transphobia, describing her childhood as painful.
Musk, who has referred to Wilson using her birth name—a practice known as "deadnaming"—has publicly lamented their estrangement, attributing it to what he calls the "woke mind virus" allegedly propagated by elite educational institutions.
The rift between Wilson and Musk has been exacerbated by Musk's outspoken support for Trump, which Wilson finds troubling given her own pro-trans stance. She has also accused Musk of being an absent parent and unaccepting of her transition, further fueling her decision to distance herself from both her father and the country.
