The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has extended an invitation to both local and international investors to explore a wealth of opportunities in Abuja.
Speaking at the inaugural Abuja Business and Investment Summit, organized by the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL), Wike highlighted the strategic advantages of investing in the FCT's burgeoning sectors such as real estate, agriculture, tourism, mining, renewable energy, and construction.
Wike emphasized, "I invite you to explore the various investment opportunities in the FCT. Whether you are interested in real estate development, technology incubation, or agribusiness, there is a place for you here."
He pointed out that Abuja's strategic location and growing population make it an ideal destination for investment, with the FCT Administration taking proactive steps to create a supportive environment for business ventures.
The minister announced plans for nine major infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing road networks and transportation within the territory, ensuring seamless connectivity.
Additionally, he assured potential investors of improved security measures, developed in collaboration with security agencies, to provide a safe environment for businesses to thrive.
Wike also addressed the importance of adhering to regulations, stating, "No city can grow without planning. The mere fact that you migrate from the rural area into the city or where you want to have something to do does not mean that we will jettison the rules and regulations."
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, in his keynote address, praised the FCT Administration's initiative, aligning it with the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted, however, that Nigeria must enhance its business facilitation strategies to attract more foreign direct investments, as the country is currently "punching below its weight."
