Nigerian singer Portable has stirred up significant debate by attributing the early death of Afrobeats pioneer and activist, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, to his relentless activism.

The interview, which took place on the 'Echoo Room' with media personality Quincy Jonze, has quickly gone viral on social media. Portable, known for his outspoken nature, did not hold back in his criticism. He stated, "Fela died early because he did not mind his business."

According to Portable, Fela's efforts to fight for Nigerians were in vain as he believed that Nigerians did not support Fela's cause. "If Fela had minded his business a little, he would have lived longer. But he was busy fighting for Nigerians wey no fight for their selves," Portable added.

The singer also used the platform to address his ongoing online feud with rapper Zlatan Ibile, whom he accused of causing a misunderstanding between him and another prominent artist, Davido. "Me and Davido did not quarrel until when the devil Zlatan came," Portable remarked, highlighting the tension within the Nigerian music industry.
