The Federal Government of Nigeria has handed over 64 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses to various labour unions and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). This initiative is part of the government's broader strategy to transition towards cleaner energy sources and reduce the nation's carbon footprint.

During the handover ceremony, the Minister of Transportation emphasized the importance of this initiative. "This is a landmark step in our commitment to providing eco-friendly and cost-effective transportation solutions for Nigerians," he stated. The minister also highlighted that these buses would significantly reduce transportation costs for workers and students, thereby alleviating some of the economic pressures they face.

Representatives from the labour unions and NANS expressed their gratitude and optimism about the new development. A spokesperson for the labour unions remarked, "We are grateful to the government for this timely intervention. These buses will not only make commuting more affordable but also contribute to a cleaner environment."

The President of NANS also shared his thoughts, saying, "This initiative will greatly benefit students across the country. Affordable and reliable transportation is crucial for our academic success and overall well-being."
