The Federal Government of Nigeria has urged its citizens to refrain from making negative remarks about the country and instead focus on enduring challenges with a sense of patriotism and national pride.
This appeal was made during a stakeholders' meeting held in Osogbo, where the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, emphasized the importance of positive discourse.
Represented by Olubukola Olorunfemi, Issa-Onilu stated, "We must never condemn, curse or speak evil about our country. Words have powers."
The government is launching nationwide campaigns aimed at fostering unity and positive attitudes among Nigerians. As part of these efforts, 1,000 brigade members will be recruited from primary and secondary schools in each state to promote oneness and unity.
Additionally, the old National Anthem, "Nigeria We Hail Thee," has been reinstated to evoke nostalgia for the nation's foundational values.
