French footballer Paul Pogba has expressed immense relief following the reduction of his doping ban from four years to 18 months, a decision made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This pivotal reduction allows Pogba to return to training in January and resume playing for Juventus soon after.

The initial four-year ban posed a severe threat to his career, potentially sidelining him until he was 34 years old, which could have led to early retirement.

Pogba, who played 233 times for Manchester United between 2016 and 2022, winning both the Europa League and EFL Cup titles, has consistently maintained his innocence, stating, "I always stated that I never knowingly breached anti-doping regulations. I play with integrity."

He expressed gratitude towards CAS for hearing his explanation and declared, "Finally, the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again."

This period has been particularly distressing for Pogba, as his 2023/24 campaign was disrupted after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), and he faced various injuries during his return to Juventus in 2022. Despite these challenges, Pogba remains optimistic about resuming his football career.
