Ishaku, who served as governor from 2015 until his second term ended on May 29, 2023, was apprehended at his residence in Abuja in the early hours of Friday, September 27, 2024.
According to sources within the EFCC, no less than 15 charges have been filed against Ishaku, all related to financial misconduct during his tenure.
"Yes, he’s in our custody right now. We have been investigating him covertly since he left as the State governor. There is a lot of financial malfeasance he perpetrated," an EFCC source revealed.
