Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has shed light on the underlying cause of the ongoing political crisis in the state.

Speaking at the Omega Power Ministries during the 51st birthday celebration of Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, Fubara identified the struggle for control over the state's abundant resources as the primary driver of the conflict.

This event took place at the church's headquarters in Mbodo, Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area. Governor Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike have been at odds for over a year, with disagreements centered around the leadership of the state's political structure.

Fubara emphasized his dedication to ensuring that the state's resources are used judiciously for the benefit of its residents. "There is a reason for this crisis, and that reason is the control of the resources of Rivers State," he stated.

"Rivers State resources belong to you (the people), and we will make sure that the resources are applied judiciously for the betterment of Rivers State."

During his address, Fubara also praised Apostle Chinyere for his philanthropic efforts and contributions to education, highlighting the importance of giving back to the community. He noted the challenges faced upon assuming office, particularly the decay in public amenities, and commended the church's initiatives in providing vocational and technical training to children.
