Former presidential spokesman, Doyin Okupe has expressed confidence that Nigerians would re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking on Channels Television’s "Politics Today" program, Okupe explained that the nickname "T-Pain," attributed to Tinubu on social media, signifies "Temporary Pain." He suggested that this temporary hardship would eventually lead to positive outcomes for the nation.
Okupe highlighted an unspoken agreement on rotational presidency between Nigeria's southern and northern regions. He noted that former President Muhammadu Buhari completed his eight-year term despite not performing well, and now Tinubu, who is perceived as doing well, should also complete his tenure. Okupe stated, "Nigerians will decide so. I am sure. Nigerians are reasonable, sensible people, not demanding too much from their leaders."
He further elaborated that if Tinubu resolves the ongoing fuel and food crises by 2027, the public would rally behind him, saying, "If Bola Tinubu gives us light in 2027, if Bola Tinubu resolves this fuel crisis and this food crisis between now and that time, you’ll see that people will go on the streets and say it’s Bola or nobody."
