Harry Kane's Statue Unveiled at Peter May Sports Centre in London [VIDEO/PHOTOS]

A life-sized statue of England's all-time top goal scorer, Harry Kane, has been unveiled at the Peter May Sports Centre in Walthamstow, London. The statue, which depicts Kane sitting on a bench with a ball on his knee, was commissioned by the Waltham Forest council between 2019 and 2020 but had remained in storage due to local regulations.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by the former Tottenham forward himself, who expressed his pride and nostalgia for returning to the place where his football journey began.

In a heartfelt post on his X page, Kane shared, "A real proud moment for me to go back to where my life in football began and unveil a statue. I hope it helps inspire the next generation to work hard and believe in themselves."

The statue, costing £7,200, is now a permanent fixture at the sports centre, which offers a variety of indoor and outdoor sports facilities to the local community. The Peter May Sports Centre, located at 135 Wadham Road, Walthamstow, serves as a hub for sports enthusiasts and is easily accessible by public transport.

Kane, who recently played a pivotal role in England's 5-0 victory over Ireland, continues to be an influential figure in football. At 31, he remains optimistic about his future in the sport, stating that he has no plans to retire after the 2026 World Cup. "Sometimes there's a perception when you get to your 30s that you're coming to an end, but for me, personally, I'm performing at the highest level I've ever performed and feel as good as I've ever felt," he told reporters at the event.
