Following the confirmation of Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election, Hezbollah has issued a stark warning, declaring that tens of thousands of its fighters are prepared to engage in battle against Israel.

In a televised speech, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem emphasized that the outcome of the U.S. election would not influence any potential cease-fire agreements for Lebanon. He stated, "Whether Harris wins or Trump wins, it means nothing to us. What will stop this ... war is the battlefield."

The militant group, backed by Iran, has been embroiled in an ongoing conflict with Israel since late September 2023, when the Israeli military expanded its operations in Gaza to secure its northern border with Lebanon. Hezbollah has been conducting low-intensity cross-border attacks on Israel, supporting its Palestinian ally Hamas following the October 7, 2023, attack.

Qassem's address, marking 40 days since his predecessor Hassan Nasrallah was killed in a strike, reiterated Hezbollah's readiness for continued conflict.

He warned that no location in Israel would be "off-limits" to their attacks, as evidenced by the recent firing of approximately 120 projectiles across the border. The Israeli military responded by targeting Hezbollah's stronghold in south Beirut after issuing evacuation warnings.

Despite the change in U.S. leadership, Qassem maintained that Hezbollah's operations would remain unaffected, dismissing the election results as irrelevant to their objectives.

He asserted, "We don't base our expectations for a halt of the aggression on political developments." The group remains steadfast in its stance that only battlefield outcomes will dictate the cessation of hostilities.
