Nigerian rapper Panshak Henry Zamani, widely known as Ice Prince, recently opened up about a pivotal moment in his life that shaped his journey. In a candid revelation on a podcast, the 38-year-old artist shared how financial constraints prevented him from pursuing higher education.
"I didn’t go to the university because of N20,000," he stated, recounting the challenges he faced as an orphan and the sole male figure in a large family reliant on him.

Ice Prince's story is one of resilience and determination. Born into a family that once enjoyed some level of privilege due to his father's wealth, his circumstances changed drastically after his father's passing. Despite these hardships, he managed to carve out a successful career in music, becoming a prominent figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Reflecting on his past, Ice Prince described how he often had to stay home for weeks each term due to unpaid school fees. The turning point came when he lost his university admission because he couldn't raise N20,000 within a two-week deadline. This setback could have led him down a different path, but instead, it fueled his drive to succeed in other ways.
"I became a studio rat," he explained, highlighting his dedication to music. He resisted the temptation to engage in illicit activities, despite growing up in Jos, a city he described as dangerous at the time. Instead, he took on various menial jobs, such as working as a pool table attendant and making leather slippers, to make ends meet.
Ice Prince's journey is a testament to his perseverance and faith. "It’s been nothing but God in my life," he said, expressing gratitude for the opportunities he's had despite not being academically inclined. His story serves as an inspiration, showing that success is possible even in the face of adversity.
Through his music and personal experiences, Ice Prince encourages others to pursue their dreams regardless of the obstacles they may encounter. His message is clear: if he, with all his imperfections and challenges, can achieve his goals, then no one has an excuse to fail.
