Nigerian singer Ayra Starr in a recent interview produced by Rolling Stone opened up about the challenges she faces as a woman in the music industry. The conversation, which also included American singer and actress Coco Jones, delved into the often unseen pressures that accompany fame.

Ayra Starr shared her experiences of navigating the relentless demands of her career. She remarked, "I feel like it’s always a lot. People only see about 1%, but for an artist, it takes a village. It takes so much to get things done right."

Starr highlighted the toll her hectic schedule takes on her well-being, especially after a busy year filled with performances. She admitted, "I did so many shows last year… sometimes I disappear when it gets overwhelming," indicating her need to retreat and recharge amidst the chaos of her professional life.

Despite her rising fame, Ayra Starr remains grounded by living with her family. She noted, "When I go back home, I’m still living with my family. My brothers might be making noise and playing video games, so the house is still very much full."

Additionally, Starr finds solace in her cultural roots, seeking out Nigerian food wherever she travels. This connection to her heritage offers her a sense of happiness and comfort.

Throughout her journey, Ayra Starr has maintained her creative integrity. She stated, "I definitely listen to close people around me, but I knew what I wanted creatively. I’ve always had the freedom to create whatever kind of music I wanted." This commitment to her artistic vision highlights her dedication to authenticity despite industry pressures.
