"I Gave VeryDarkMan the Green Light to Expose Bobrisky's Alleged N15m Bribe to EFCC" - Seun Kuti Confesses

Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, has revealed that he authorized social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), to expose controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

This revelation came amidst allegations that Bobrisky bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges against him.

Seun Kuti stated, "You people are late to the party. I was the first person VDM informed about the story, and I gave him the go-ahead to expose Bobrisky." This statement was made during an Instagram live session where Kuti discussed the viral recording in which Bobrisky allegedly boasted about bribing EFCC officials and not spending a day in prison despite being sentenced to six months.

Bobrisky, however, has denied these claims, asserting that the recording is fake and that he served his jail term without any bribery involved. The EFCC, led by Chairman Ola Olukoyede, has launched an investigation into the matter, inviting both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan for questioning at its Lagos Directorate. Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity at the EFCC, confirmed the investigation, emphasizing the commission's commitment to integrity and transparency.

The allegations have sparked significant public interest, given Bobrisky's previous legal issues, including a six-month prison sentence for mutilating and spraying Naira notes at social events. The EFCC has assured the public that the investigation will be thorough and the findings will be made public, as any proven misconduct would severely undermine the commission's anti-corruption efforts.
