Jose Mourinho has responded to Pep Guardiola's recent comments regarding their respective Premier League title wins.
The Manchester City manager had reminded fans of his six-title haul, double that of Mourinho's three, during a press conference following City's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Guardiola, addressing the media, remarked, "He won three, I won six... but we are the same like that," while gesturing with six fingers to Liverpool fans who taunted him about potential dismissal.
This gesture was reminiscent of Mourinho's own past antics, where he famously held up three fingers to rival fans during his tenure at Manchester United.
In response, Mourinho, now managing Fenerbahçe, retorted through Turkish outlet Sporx, "Guardiola said something to me yesterday. He won six trophies and I won three, but I won fairly and cleanly." Mourinho's statement subtly referenced the ongoing legal troubles facing Manchester City, which is currently under investigation for 115 alleged breaches of financial regulations.
These charges, if substantiated, could lead to severe repercussions, including possible relegation from the Premier League.
The Portuguese manager further emphasized, "If I lost, I want to congratulate my opponent because he was better than me. I don't want to win by dealing with 150 lawsuits."
