In a resolute declaration on Channels TV, Prof. Rhoda Gumus, the INEC National Commissioner for Edo, affirmed her unwavering commitment to electoral integrity by stating she would not accept any bribe, even if it amounted to 1 billion Naira, to alter the results of the state's governorship election.
Prof. Gumus emphasized, "I want to do the right thing, even though I will not be everywhere. We will conduct this election in a free, fair, and credible manner. I cannot take bribes no matter how much."

Prof. Gumus assured that she would be vigilant throughout the election, monitoring activities closely and intervening when necessary to ensure fairness. She confidently asserted, "Nobody will try me. You know in any office you are in this country they know everything about you. And when they know they will not come near."
