The Senate Committee on Defence has declared that no investment in the nation's security and armed forces is excessive.

This assertion was made by Senator Ahmad Lawal, the committee's Chairman, during an oversight visit to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji, Kaduna State.

Senator Lawal emphasized the critical role of security as the bedrock for all other societal advancements, stating, "When we are able to secure our environment, then we can provide other things easily and comfortably." He highlighted the Senate's commitment to ensuring that the armed forces receive the necessary attention and resources to effectively safeguard the nation.

The AFCSC was recognized as a pivotal institution for military training, providing tactical, operational, and mid-level education for officers leading various military operations.

Lawal noted, "At the Senate, we consider the AFCSC as one of the most important institutions that provides training and education for the nation’s military."

This stance aligns with broader national efforts to tackle insecurity, including initiatives by South-East governors and legislative measures aimed at curbing illegal mining activities.

These multifaceted strategies shows the importance of collaboration between government entities and local authorities to bolster Nigeria's defense infrastructure comprehensively.
