Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has declared that the recent missile attack on Israel was merely the "least punishment" in response to the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah by an Israeli airstrike.
On October 4th, Khamenei stated that Iran launched approximately 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel as a direct retaliation for Nasrallah's killing. He warned that the Islamic Republic would not hesitate to attack again if deemed necessary.
In a speech delivered during Friday prayers in Tehran, Khamenei described the missile strike as both "legal and legitimate," emphasizing Iran's unwavering support for Hezbollah.
He praised Hamas' October 7th attack on Israel, labeling it as "legitimate," and asserted the Palestinians' right to defend themselves against what he termed Israeli occupation.
The speech, partly delivered in Arabic, aimed to resonate with Lebanese and Palestinian audiences, further solidifying Iran's stance in the regional conflict.
