The ongoing conflict between Israel and Lebanon occurred when a drone targeted the private residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea.
According to reports confirmed by Netanyahu's office, neither he nor his wife were present at the time, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Israeli military disclosed that three drones were launched from Lebanon into Israeli territory earlier that morning. Of these, one drone struck a building in Caesarea, though it remains unclear if this building was part of Netanyahu's residence or if it sustained any significant damage.
The other two drones were successfully intercepted by Israeli defense forces.
This drone attack is part of a broader pattern of escalating hostilities between Israel and Lebanon. On the same day, over 55 rockets were reportedly launched from Lebanon into Israel. In response, Israel has been conducting strikes on targets within Lebanon, particularly those associated with the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
This incident follows a recent Israeli strike in Jounieh, a Christian-majority town north of Beirut, which resulted in two fatalities, marking a shift from previous operations that primarily focused on Hezbollah-dominated areas.
While the drone attack has not been claimed by Hezbollah or any other militant group, the situation underscores the heightened tensions and the potential for further conflict.
The ongoing exchange of fire since October highlights the fragile state of regional stability and security, necessitating diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation.
