The newly signed goalkeeper for FC Barcelona, Wojciech Szczęsny has made headlines not only for his return to football but also for his candid remarks about his personal life.

After initially retiring from professional play, Szczęsny was persuaded to join Barcelona following an enticing offer and the influence of his compatriot, Robert Lewandowski. This move came after Marc-André ter Stegen's injury left a gap in the team's lineup.

Szczęsny, who has previously played in England and Italy, is now experiencing La Liga for the first time. Despite the change in leagues, he remains steadfast in his personal habits, particularly regarding smoking.

In a revealing interview with Mundo Deportivo, Szczęsny stated, "It's nobody's business if I smoke. I believe it doesn't affect what I do on the pitch; I work twice as hard." He emphasized that while he does smoke occasionally, he takes care not to do so in front of children to avoid being a bad influence.

The Polish goalkeeper, known for his impressive career, including saving a penalty from Lionel Messi during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, insists that his private life should not be subject to public scrutiny. "If somebody thinks that I will change the way I am in my personal life, they can think again because I am who I am. I've been this way my whole life," Szczęsny asserted.
