President Joe Biden has expressed his confidence that the upcoming U.S. presidential election would be "free and fair," but he voiced uncertainty about whether it would be peaceful. This concern stems from remarks made by former President Donald J. Trump and his supporters, which Biden described as "very dangerous."

During a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room on October 4, 2024, Biden highlighted the potential for violence similar to the events of January 6, 2021, when unrest erupted at the U.S. Capitol following Trump's defeat in the 2020 election.
Biden's apprehensions are further fueled by the fact that some Republican figures, such as Senator JD Vance of Ohio, have not committed to accepting the election results.
Vice President Kamala Harris also criticized Trump during a debate, accusing him of threatening a "blood bath" if the election outcome did not favor him. These statements align with the Democratic strategy of cautioning against the actions of Trump and his loyalists.
Despite these concerns, Biden refrained from discussing any specific measures the administration might be taking to prevent potential violence, stating only that he is regularly briefed on domestic security threats.
