The Federal High Court in Abuja reinstated Julius Abure as the national chairman of the Labour Party (LP).

This decision came after a contentious period where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had refused to recognize Abure's leadership, citing alleged violations during the March 2024 National Convention. However, Justice Emeka Nwite ruled that the convention held in Nnewi was conducted in accordance with Nigerian laws, thereby affirming its validity.

The court's ruling not only reinstates Abure but also mandates INEC to "grant due recognition and all privileges" to the Labour Party’s National Working Committee under his leadership.
