Kendrick Lamar Reportedly Surpasses 2Pac's Streaming Record with "Not Like Us"

Kendrick Lamar's summer hit "Not Like Us" has reportedly achieved a pivotal milestone by surpassing 2Pac's legendary diss track "Hit 'Em Up" in streaming numbers.

According to a post by Our Generation Music on August 11, 2024, Kendrick's track has amassed over 647 million streams, outpacing "Hit 'Em Up" by close to six million.

This achievement is particularly notable given that "Hit 'Em Up" was previously ranked number one on HipHopDX's list of the 100 Greatest Diss Songs in Hip Hop History—a list inspired by Kendrick Lamar's earlier diss track targeting Drake.

The success of "Not Like Us" extends beyond just streaming numbers. The song, which debuted at the height of Kendrick Lamar and Drake's feud in early May, earned the biggest single-day streams of any rap song in U.S. Spotify history with 10.986 million streams.

This figure easily eclipsed the 6.593 million streams achieved by Drake and Lil Baby’s “Girls Like Girls” in 2021. Furthermore, "Not Like Us" became the fastest rap song to achieve 500 million streams on Spotify, dethroning Drake's "God’s Plan."

Commercially, "Not Like Us" has also been a powerhouse. Earlier this month, it was reported as the best-selling song of 2024 in the U.S., according to Chart Data.

Although not yet officially certified by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), the track reached one million equivalent units in less than two weeks after its release and surpassed two million sales the following month. Through Spotify and YouTube alone, "Not Like Us" and its accompanying music video have racked up over 800 million plays.

Adding to its accolades, the Mustard-produced anthem topped the Billboard Hot 100 twice—initially in its first week and again two months later after the release of its highly anticipated music video.
