The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has initiated an investigation into a viral video that has garnered massive attention on social media.
The video, which shows two young content creators filming while in traffic on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos, has sparked widespread discussion and concern.
In the video, the individuals are seen exiting a gray Toyota Camry with the registration number AAA 62 EL, parked in the middle of the road. One person is observed sitting on the car’s bonnet, while the other strikes a pose in front of the vehicle. This act was performed without official authorization, leading to potential traffic obstruction and safety hazards.
Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA's Director of Public Affairs, confirmed via the agency's X handle on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, that immediate action is being taken.

He stated, "The attention of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has been drawn to a viral video on social media, depicting two individuals in a grey Camry (AAA 62 EL) enacting a scene on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, without official authorization.
The Agency seeks to assure the public that an investigation has been promptly initiated, and that appropriate action will be taken, utilizing the vehicle’s registration number in strict compliance with the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018."
